About

I am Senior Lecturer in Neurosurgery and a Consultant Neurosurgeon based at King’s College Hospital. My research includes investigating the use of advanced therapeutics for regeneration and repair following Traumatic Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury. This includes endogenous and transplanted stem cells and the use of gene therapy, including viral vector delivered treatments, in models of TBI and SCI. I am establishing a translational pathway for the use of advanced gene therapies for neurological disease, including collaborations to translate the use of vector therapy in first-in-human studies. I also use primary live human neural tissue for research and aim to foster broader collaborations within IoPPN. Overall, I am developing my translational research programme in advanced therapeutics for neurological disease and aim to translate this to neurosurgical patients at King’s College.
